The Trailrider Program
A David Stratton Legacy
The late Dr David Stratton and his wife Ros were avid hikers and loved to get out into nature to follow this love. Unfortunately, a diagnosis of MS in 1995 all but put an end to their hiking adventures as David became increasingly wheelchair bound.
However, in 2009, on a holiday to Vancouver, Canada, David and Ros were introduced, by their dear friend, toa TrailRider. This unique piece of equipment was a single wheel, wheelchair that allowed a person with reduced mobility the opportunity with the help of 2-4 ‘sherpas’ to explore terrain that was once impossible and inaccessible to them.
David and Ros saw the potential of this wonderful piece of equipment and were instrumental with Parks Victoria in bringing the TrailRider to Australia.

At Entity Eco Therapy, we are so very thankful to Ros for allowing us to use David’s personal TrailRider to enable us to assist people with disability to experience places in nature that have previously been inaccessible to them.
