Cazz Butler

I was born in Castlemaine and raised on a large Merino sheep and cropping farm in Newstead.

I am 42 years young and a mama to a four year old boy, Sonny. Since finishing High School in Maryborough I have worked in a variety of roles in a variety of fields.

I began my working life in Bendigo where I worked in Retail Management before moving to Melbourne at 23 to study Beauty Therapy while working in Construction! After nine years in the Spa and Wellness industry, I wanted more of a challenge and a complete change of pace. I joined Victoria Police in 2013 and worked as a Uniformed Officer across Melbourne and the Western suburbs for the next 8 years. Part of my role with VicPol saw me spend 12 months in a specific unit based in Werribee that dealt with Youth, Youth crime and Youth crime prevention.

I enjoyed this particular role as I felt I made positive connections with the kids and other members of the local community and helped break stereotypes they may have had about police. After the birth of my son, my time with VicPol ended and I moved back to country Victoria.

Throughout my working life I have always found working with people, particularly offering them assistance, my greatest strength. With my bubbly personality, I relish in building rapport and creating positive relationships in order to assist people of all ages to be the best they can be. I support participants to achieve their NDIS goals set out in their NDIS plans. I am committed to assist participants in 1:1 support and offer diverse assistance with everyday tasks, running errands and community engagement to chats over coffee, offering respite for participants and other family members.

Outside work I enjoy getting into nature with Sonny, catching up with friends and family over good coffee, keeping fit and healthy, cooking and gardening. I love to travel and explore new places when time allows and love a good laugh!

I hold a current NDIS worker screening check, First Aid certificate, Working with Children check and I have full comprehensive car insurance.
